Upgrades to existing electrics, to comply with current electrical regulations
We are first time home buyers with no experience of electrical installations, we have a tight budget but obviously wanted to ensure our house was completely safe. We'd had other electricians visit our home but none of them made me feel confident that I could rely on them to deliver a quality job. Bryan was completely the opposite, He was totally genuine, really friendly, very accommodating, and more than happy to offer advice. He explained things to us without making us feel stupid! So that was our first impression of Bryan, and the exact reason why we asked him to come back and carry out the work for us. My Dad had experience of electrics and Bryan was happy for him to work alongside him doing the time consuming work such as lifting carpets/boards, pulling cables, and securing back boxes. This really helped us save some time and money. Bryan worked like a trooper and really impressed us all. During the work he discovered some serious issues which he rectified quickly, he even suggested various ways that we could improve the current layout, all of which were brilliant! By the end of the project we had a safe and highly improved setup which included a new attic light that we can turn on and off from the landing, stairway lighting, and a new mains powered smoke and carbon monoxide detector system that we can control from a central switch. We would recommend Bryan to anyone in need of electrical work, we were very impressed by his work and his professionalism, we simply can't fault him. People always advise that you get several quotes before getting someone in to do a job but from now on, if there's an electrical job that needs doing, we'll be contacting Bryan!

Bryan was very helpful and accommodating, finding time to do the work that suited us. He explained clearly what was being done and did the work at a reasonable rate. Above all he was courteous and tidied up after the work was done and his time keeping was perfect - he won't keep you waiting or let you down at the last minute as many other workmen might. climbed through our top window to let us in our office on a Saturday
I called him out on a Saturday and he arrived promptly. We were locked out of The Big Issue office in Bristol because someone had installed the new magnetic lock wrong. After a quick assesment of the problem (the lock was all wired inside and couldn't be deactivated from that point) Bryan shimied up his ladder and got into the property through a top window. His quick action (and agility!) meant we were able to salvage a day of trade and our homeless vendors were able to earn an income. I will definitely think of using BZ in the future.

Fixed isolator switch in bathroom and tested electrical system
He actually went above and beyond what we felt he would do - the isolator switch was replaced, but he took time out to explain how to avoid future problems and how to extend the lifecycle of the shower. He also explained how to test the fuse box and electrical system and we would recommend him without hesitation.

Work on lights and fuse
Bryan came to be rescue when I managed to blow a fuse in my main fusebox. He came out at very short notice and spent a long time explaining what had happened and had to replace a light fixture, this included him drawing me pictures, which I felt went above and beyond his job. Bryan was very polite, knowlegdable. When you hear about rogue traders it's refreshing to have someone like Bryan about, he is a very worthy winner.

Tested and repaired electrical fault
Bryan responded to a call for help when we were struggling with virtually no electrical supply to the ground floor of the property. He worked long into the night to regain the use of some sockets in the Kitchen and then returned to put everything back into full working order. He was approachable, answered questions when we raised concerns, was exceptionally polite throughout and worked methodically (with the help of one of our dogs who insisted on examining lifted floor boards and removing tools!) We were so impressed we have lined him up to change our consumer box in the not too far distant future. I felt the amount he charged was very reasonable for the number of hours we spent rectifying the problem.

Brian from BZ Electricals was friendly, profesional and a wonder to have completing our electrical works! The work carried out was incredibly tough and included extremely confusing electrical installations that possibly would make the smartest person confused. It really was awful. BZ Electricals gave an incredibly accurate evaluation, was tidy, and cleaned up all mess that he made. We are currently renovating a very dated property and he has done everything possible to make things easier! (From allowing enough wire for the new extension, to preparing everything so the job was easier for our Plasterer) Brian even worked from 8am, until 9pm to complete the job (which we were incredibly greatful for)...this is a perfect example of how Brian and BZ Electricals will bend over backwards to help us! I would 100%, whole-heartedly recomend this wonderful tradesmen....

Bryan Zoutendijk (BZ Electrical) sorted out a problem that other electricians had not been able to. I appreciated his intelligent approach. He investigated the problem thoroughly and kept everyone in the block of flats up to date throughout the process with clear explanations. He was always courteous and cheerful and I felt confident he was doing a good job, often going the extra mile. Fault tracing in ground floor circuit, making safe and installation of outside security lights.
Bryan showed a professional grasp of the persistent connection fault in one of our ground floor lighting circuits and was able to effect a wiring repair immediately. The installation of outside security lights went smoothly with Bryan explaining about the need for separate circuit protection and maintaining good seals against water penetration into the new lights. Bryan also pointed out that we had an out-of-date mains consumer unit which would need to be updated to comply with current wiring regulations; I am still waiting to be able to afford this work. Bryan was thoroughly professional in his work and approach. I am happy to support his participation in the Tradesman of the Year Competition.

replacing sockets, adding extra sockets & light switches
He was friendly and explained everything he was doing using "idiot-proof" wording so I understood exactly what was happening and why. He even suggested other things we may want to consider in the future but was not pushy or insistent which makes a change - we therefore felt we could trust him and would definitely do so again in the future. Time keeping was excellent. Even checked the other electrics in our house and actually asked us if there was anything we needed to know (no charge, was obviously just a helpful person). The term "always a pleasure never a chore" springs to mind with BZ Electrical - sometimes we have had workmen in and can't wait to see the back of them as they make me feel rather uncomfortable but definitely did not have that with Brian. Thank you.
